Urodynamics

The goal of urodynamics is to understand the function of the lower urinary tract (bladder, sphincter, urethra). In the majority of the cases, we use non invasive tests (bladder diary, uroflowmetry, bladder scan) in association with the paediatric continence physiotherapists. In more complex situations (neurogenic bladder, exstrophy), we have to perform a cystomanometry which is a bit more invasive as we have to place a catheter in the bladder. This test is done by our urologists at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
